Sensory Processing Success: A Comprehensive Guide to Supporting Sensory Processing and Behavior for Families, Educators, and Caregivers

Welcome to this comprehensive sensory training designed specifically for families, carers, teachers, and group home staff. In this training, you will gain a deep understanding of sensory processing, including what it is and how it influences daily life. You'll explore the challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing difficulties (SPD) and learn how these challenges impact their behavior, emotions, and overall well-being. You'll be provided with over 3 hours worth of face to face video, ability to ask questions with direct response from a team of therapists and over 15 unique resources such as information sheets about SPD, how to develop a Sensory routine, activities for people with SPD both children and adults, ideas for making the home, school, and/or group home setting into a safe SPD space and even navigating outdoor spaces for someone with SPD. The training will walk you through a typical day for someone with SPD, highlighting the sensory experiences they encounter and how these can shape their interactions with the world. You'll delve into understanding sensory profiles—unique patterns of sensory preferences and sensitivities—and discover strategies to help individuals achieve a "just right" state of sensory balance. We'll provide specific sensory activities and supports that you can integrate into daily routines, whether at home, school, or in group settings. Additionally, you'll learn why the environment matters so much for those with SPD, and how to make practical adjustments to create sensory-friendly spaces in homes, schools, group homes, and public places. Finally, we'll explore the relationship between sensory processing and behavior, helping you recognize and respond to sensory-driven behaviors with empathy and effectiveness. By the end of this training, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and tools to create supportive, sensory-friendly environments that enhance the quality of life for those you care for and work with.
